2017 Santa Specials

This year’s Santa Express will be a different adventure for the adults and children to enjoy. The train will be loading at our Bartlett street site, 301 Bartlett St, Clinton, MI 49236. The trip to see Santa starts there!

On the train, there will be decorations, Boy Scout Elves and Hot Chocolate. After a short trip south and then back north, you will arrive at our version of a Santa Fantasy Land to be greeted by the Big Man himself, Santa. After the children visits with Santa the families will again get back on the train and will return to the starting point. Please come on out and join us this year, we look forward to seeing everyone during this Holiday Season.

This is a simple, small-town event with a kid-friendly price. We keep the event deliberately small, so it goes smoothly without big lines. (or a big price.) Tickets do tend to sell out.

Dress for the weather! Seriously! You may be standing outside awhile, and we're working on a surprise that will only be fun if you're dressed. While the coach and caboose are fully enclosed, please consider this a Michigan outdoor activity!

These historic rail cars (67 and 89 years old) are NOT heated, though we may break out propane heaters to take the edge off if it's really cold. DO dress for the weather!

A note for Parents ONLY

This ride is much shorter than our usual train - only about 30 minutes round trip, to fit the shorter attention span of children. Every trip meets Santa, and you have all the time you need with the big guy. Don't tell your children this, but we're going to pass your car on the way to Santa - our railroad is real, so it's a straight line not a loop. You will have to wait for a return train. Santa will be inside our main building on Division Street, about 2100 feet away (0.4 mile). We'll come back for you in an hour.

Don't arrive too early - just 15 minutes early will do. We underbook this train on purpose, so you don't have to scramble for a seat.

WALK-UPS are not recommended as we don't have much slack without the open-air car. But who knows? We got balmy weather in 2015, so we used the open-air car and people loved it. Watch for an announcement on our email list or Facebook.

WEATHER REFUNDS are a new policy on the Santa trains. That's based on our experiences in 2016, and how we handle the open-air car in the sumer. A trip will be eligible for refunds if the weather is significantly worse than "normal" early December weather, according to the <24 hour forecast. We generally announce this on our Facebook page. The train will still run -- but we'll "turn on the refund light". At that point, contact us within 48 hours after train time, and refund no problem.

Join our email list to be the first to know when any other dates or ticket blocks go on sale. You'll be the first to know.
